We talk with Mike "Poker and Politics" Rains about the QAnon Movement, the direction it's going in 2024, and the people of "BlueAnon" who are making it worse.
I truly think my ex would have gone down the Q rabbit hole if he hadn't died of a stroke at the age of 55 in 2016. He was watching the first debate between Clinton and Trump on a September Monday night, had a stroke, wasn't found until noon Wednesday, and died Thursday afternoon. He was all in on Alex Jones' conspiracies and was barely consuming anything other than beer and diet Mt. Dew and cigarettes. The ICU docs said he was malnourished. He was 6' and weighed like 140 pounds even after he was given IV hydration. I listen to Knowledge Fight every so often to see what he was being fed all day, every day, and it just baffles me that anyone can take that overdramatic blowhard seriously.
I kind of hate to say it, but I'm a bit relieved that he died when he did, because I think he might have gotten himself and our son wrangled into showing up on Jan. 6. In 2008 he sold his house in Wisconsin at a loss, because he was convinced wind turbines were coming in and the value would plummet. He moved into a storage unit that his brother owned. He stopped paying taxes, bought a house in the U.P. with cash, and started amassing weapons and ammo and stocking up on emergency food. We still have cases and cases of canned butter, shredded beef and turkey in gravy, canned bacon, canned herbs and spices, flour, sugar, rice, toilet paper. It's crazy.
Great podcast! Thank you
