When finally catching up to the recent history of Ukraine in the 90s, I noticed, they never got a chance to NOT be on the receiving end of a process where Russia was incentivized to (a) corrupt their politics (b) then claim this corruption proved that they were a weak identity as a nation/state.

This cycle of abusive situation-creation and subsequent blame goes all to well with libertarian experimentation in public-service abolition; one of many reasons libertarians and Putinites were drawn to each other a dozen years ago, especially in the south and midwest.
